Impact EvaluationIn much of our work we have created and applied ‘Theories of Change’. Theories of Change are often used to clearly define the intended outcomes and impact of a programme, project or a product being developed. We help organisations define their own “Theory of Change’. We have noticed many organisations focus solely or mainly upon outputs - we are passionate about helping organisations to see the ‘golden thread’ from outputs to outcomes (medium term) and onward to impact (longer term). We also review existing impact evaluation models and methodologies to help improve them yet further. As always, we start with your situation and build, in collaboration with you, a suitable approach. For example, we have been working with various UfI Trust VocTech projects to help each define the output, outcomes and impact they intend to affect. The projects are relevant to manufacturing, early years settings, college training, online learning as well as technologies including AI and machine learning. The Theory of Change we develop has helped each organisation more clearly define their intended impact for those they serve.

Market MakeWe understand the public sector, its drivers and direction from a policy, IT strategy and shared services perspective. Our team can help assess an organisation’s capabilities (solutions, services, products) and where and how to best to maximise revenues and profit across the public sector. The strategies we produce do not reside in a virtual ‘cupboard’ - they drive decision-making, checkpoints and provide a journey plan to meet the goals (however ambitious) relevant to your organisation. A strategy is only as good as the people who will execute it and we will always ensure our clients understand any people gaps and/or development that are required. Our strategy work centres upon the metrics that matter most to you – typically financial (revenues/EBITDA/sales order targets), key client/sector targets, portfolio blend. Hadfield Consultants has particular domain knowledge across the education sector (schools, FE and HE) and access to individuals who have helped shape and deliver education systems, policies and tenders (at both national, regional and institution level). Typical Deliverables
- Strategy health check (review of current strategy documentation)
- Portfolio health check
- Market Strategy document (total strategy refresh or a specific focus area)
- Partner Strategy document
Shaping Shared Services
Our team has a key strength around the government shared services agenda and has helped shape the government approach to shared services from a (cross) central government perspective as well as from an education sector perspective. We are up-to-date with the latest approaches and opportunities that this agenda presents which will give you access to new opportunities and new insights.
Shared services has become part of the lexicon of public services. To many it is the holy grail. To others it is a confusing, undefined and spurious term that has been misused for quite some time. We can help your organisation make sense of the words – and more importantly the opportunities!
